Biography
Dr. Olimpia Spadaro graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Rome La Sapienza in 1992 with honours and in 1997 she specialized in Cardiology. She attended the Institute of Cardiac Surgery of the University of Rome La Sapienza as a student, then internal medicine and resident from 1987 to 1997. During this decade she worked as a caregiver in the cardiac surgery ward and in the Coronary Unit. She also attended the Echocardiography and Ergometry Laboratories where she completed the training period and acquired complete autonomy in the execution of stress tests, transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiogram, pharmacological echo-stress. She underwent a training period of about 1 year in Hemodynamics, where she acquired complete autonomy in the execution of the coronary study. She underwent a 6-month training period in Nuclear Medicine at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. During this period, she acquired complete autonomy in the evaluation of examinations performed by SPECT and PET. From 1997 to 2003 she worked in Rome at the cardiology and cardiology intensive care unit of the American Hospital and San Feliciano clinics. In the same period, she worked as head of the cardiology service of the Villa dei Pini clinic (Anzio) and at the Capitol medical centre.
Since 2003 she has been working as a Level I Medical Director at the Cardiology Department of the Pederzoli Clinic in Peschiera del Garda, carrying out assistance activities at the Cardiology Intensive Care Unit and the ordinary inpatient ward, as well as carrying out outpatient activities including, stress tests, transthoracic and transoesophageal Color-Doppler echocardiogram, pharmacological and stress echo stress, 24 H Holter ECG, Tilt-Test. Since 2020 she has held the position of head of the Cardiology Intensive Care Unit and the cardiology ward of the Pederzoli Hospital. She works as a freelancer at the Legs Medical Institute in Peschiera del Garda.
